My Newborn and Free Shipping

This weekend was cold and wet thanks to the dreaded Nor'easter. I stayed home lazing around with the kids. My newborn is already 10 weeks old! Boy does time fly. When is a newborn no longer considered a newborn? He gets more amazing as the days pass by. His smiles make me all gooey inside!

Here's a pic I took of him at 8 days old. Isn't he the cutest thing? I got the hat and booties off a fellow etsy seller. I love them!!!

I was able to list quite a few things on etsy. There are some new cards, tags and calendars currently up. I am offering free shipping on all the birthday greetings and the poodle notes calendar in my etsy shop.

The new poodle calendar is available in a hard copy format for $19 with free shipping and the pdf version for only $5.

I hope you didn't think I was giving my newborn away with free shipping, haha! Well, it's 3am and I should be getting my beauty sleep so off to bed I am. Good night!

Meet Loki the Felt Monster

I've been seeing handmade felt monsters everywhere on etsy. I've been hard at work decorating my newborns nursery so naturally I was inspired to make my own.

Meet Loki, he's a lovely shade of blue and grey, thinks with his corazon; not his brain, secretly speaks spanish and suffers from insomnia! Loki has a hefty appetite, his favorite meal is tiny infant socks, which explains all the white fibers around his mouth and fangs.

I drew, cut and stitched him up all by myself. I had forgotten why I didn't like to make these lil guys. I have no patience when it comes to hand stitching as I feel it takes forever. It took me quite a few hours to finish him and I kept pricking my fingers, ouch! Sewing is not for me. I'll stick to paper goods!

New 2010 Calendars in Shop

I finally got around to listing two new calendars. I had been wanting to do a calendar since last year but missed the deadline. So now I present to you my very own wall calendar and printable mini calendar.

Fall Freebie

Another free download! Inspired by the colors of autumn, I made these cute little teeny tiny mini-file folders in lovely orange to organize the small stuff on my desk. Wanna try some diy organizing? Click to download some for yourself.

There's a total of 3 mini-file folders:

Left tab folder

Middle tab folder

Right tab folder

Print on 8.5" x 11" card stock. They are very easy to assemble. All you need is a ruler (or a heavy book if you need to improvise), a bone folder (a plastic knife will do), and scissors or paper cutter. Score a line across the middle, fold and cut. It's that easy!

They were so cute, I couldn't resist adding a 12 month mini-file folder set to my etsy shop. I also made a matching 2010 desk calendar. These are available as printables for only $5. See my etsy shop for details.

DIY Jungle baby mobile

When I was pregnant, I made a mobile out of felt animals for my baby's crib.
Photobucket
I drew the animals and trees (giraffe, coconut tree, owl, alligator, lion, bird, and lemon tree) onto felt and cut them out, then I sewed the ends together and stuffed them with cotton balls. To finish I closed the seams and sewed fishing line to the top of each one to hang them with.

I found a wreath at Ikea for 99 cents. I didn't like the way it looked with all the branches, leaves and flowers so I removed them and only used the base.

My son is only 5 weeks old and sleeps in his bassinet in my room so it hasn't been used yet but I can't wait until he gets a lil older and appreciates it!

RIP Patrick Swayze

So sad! Beloved actor Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer today. My heart goes out to his family, his friends, anyone that is truly missing him.
Photobucket
I bet there are over a million girls hearts breaking at the mention of your death. Your legacy shall live on through your work, you were a great entertainer. I have probably watched dirty dancing over 100 times since I was a little girl. It was my absolute favorite movie, I loved Johnny Castle!
Photobucket
This is how you should and always will be remembered by me. I'm going to pull out my dirty dancing dvd, blow the dust off the cover and watch it in honor of you. Rest in peace.
